HATE IN MICHIGAN 1. Is there a geographical pattern to the location of hate groups in the state (e.g., are these groups generally located near large cities or smaller towns/suburbs)? I picked the former state that I lived in which is Michigan and as I remembered the results always showed a disparity of crime and as you will see hate groups in specifically the largest city of Michigan which is Detroit. If you look at Detroit that is where you will find 5 black nationalist hate groups, 2 neo-Nazi and 1 general hate groups (Southern Poverty Law Center, 2018). Detroit is the largest populated city in the state of Michigan with approximately 673,104 residents with 8 hate groups dedicated only to Detroit (World Population Review, 2018).
