Water has a simple molecular structure, Water is a "polar" molecule, meaning that there is an uneven distribution of electron density. Water has a partial negative charge (-) near the oxygen atom due the unshared pairs of electrons, and partial positive charges (+) near the hydrogen atoms.

POLARITY Two atoms with the same electronegativity form a bond, the electrons shared equally between the two atoms.

SOLVENT PROPERTIES OF WATER IONIC BONDS Ionic bonding is the complete transfer of valence electron(s) between atoms. It is a type of chemical bond that generates two oppositely charged ions. SALT BRIDGE An interaction depends on, the attraction of unlike charges. DIPOLE Molecules with positive and negative end due to an uneven distribution of electrons in bonds. NON-POLAR Bonds in which two atoms share electron evenly.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
