Bailey Piatt English 3 H Period 3 11/7/18 Hamlet Questions 1.) The gravediggers' scene provides comic relief, but it also offers a pacifier on the nature of death. All are reduced to dust and bones, no matter what their status. This scene demonstrates that Hamlet no longer seeks death but now accepts it as life's natural conclusion 2.) Hamlet objects to Laertes's expression. Their quarrel reveals Hamlet loved Ophelia more than any other brother could have. 3.) Hamlet demonstrates that he has become a man of action rather than reflection. He messed with the King's letter to cause the deaths of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (Ham.5.2.398-47) and then escaped from the ship. 4.) Through Osric, Shakespeare satirizes the horrible effect "European" fashions of upper society. He exaggerates his own obsequiousness (Ham.5.2.95-104), mocks Osric's pompous language (Ham.5.2.114-127), and mocks his attire and manner with puns (Ham.5.2.180,190) 5.)
