COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT INTRODUCTION: A team project is a name given to a collaborative enterprise that is carefully planned and designed to achieve a particular goal in which a group of students collaborate to achieve that single goal. The team project introduced in the “System Development” course would help students to see how a real commercial system is developed. We were introduced to methods and techniques currently being used to determine the wants and needs of a client. This team project has given me the opportunity to analyze client’s requirements and design and build a database system for an actual organization. Moreover, during the whole process, I had the opportunity to gain knowledge from each of my team members. I learned the importance of assigning different tasks to each teammate according to their skill level. I have also experienced what it is like be part of a development team. Moreover, I have learned about project management, information and requirements gathering, user interface design, data modeling and prototyping. I have also learnt about the responsibilities as a team leader’s perspective as well as a team member standpoint. The good thing that I learned from this project is time management. This project also helped me to know that each person in the team has their own strength and weaknesses. This comprehensive assessment describes the responsibilities, the challenges I faced on a personal level and the hardships we encountered as a team throughout the semester, and how we overcame these difficulties. FIRST PHASE: INSTIGATING AND PLANNING, KNOWING TEAM MEMBERS Description of the phase: During the beginning of the semester, we were told by our respected teacher that we need to produce a team project in which we would work as a team with different

students and our teacher would select students according to their skills level and place in a team. We were placed in teams accordingly and each team was given a name. I was placed in a team of five students including me. We need to produce seven deliverables throughout the semester and one of the students in the team is assigned with the responsibility as a team leader for each deliverable. We were advised to seat together in each class during the semester. We have gone through several stages and steps during the semester, but the first stage was truly challenging for all of us. The first stage can be called as the “Organizing stage” where we were introduced to the team members and shared information about our interests, strength, weaknesses and experience of each other. On our first meeting, we learned about the project we will be working on, how and

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
