Kaeler Braine Due 11/8 Writing Assignment #6 As humans, we have always been told that life is precious, and to value all it has to offer. Therefore, that what we do minute-to-minute is important to our existence. These experiences should make up the story of our lives. Although if you think about it, those moment-to-moment experiences don’t make up our lives, they are almost always lost. It seems that our most remembered experiences are the ones that involve change in our lives. So how can we distinguish the affect of an experience from a memory on our future behavior? It is weird to think about the fact that we don't actually choose between experiences, we choose between memories of experiences, then on top of that, even when we think about the future, we don't think of our future normally as experiences. We think of our future as anticipated memories. This ability to remember our past experiences is determined in specific ways. We may not be able to remember every minute of everyday, but there is a transformation of significant experiences into memory through neural processing.
