Kaeler Braine Due 11/15 Writing Assignment #7 Language was developed long before our generation was born, from passed down systems over time. We learned that it is a system by which sounds, symbols, and gestures are used for communication. Language then becomes an audible form of communication built on the sounds humans produce through a process called speech. Language and speech are complicated processes; therefore, they will also have many disorders associated with them. This includes different receptive, developmental, and expressive impairments. [4] These impairments and disorders can also be comorbid with other intellectual/ learning disorders, for example autism spectrum disorder, ADD/ADHD, or even traumatic brain injuries. These disorders can cause trouble with talking to people, as well as, understanding what people are saying to you. If you think about it, this can have a huge affect on children. It can change how they learn or socialize in school, and how they interact with their peers and family. It is necessary for any person who has trouble learning or communicating to catch it as early as possible. The younger it is caught, the easier it would be to try and treat the issue at hand.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
