Kaeler Braine Due 9/18 Writing Assignment #2 Science today is considered to be a fast growing area of interest. In some eyes it is moving rapidly in the wrong direction. The scientific “issues” of today are focused around prioritizing the wrong ideas for the wrong reasons. Scientists, professors, research assistants, and even graduate students are being forced to save themselves in this area by attracting attention through new and exciting questions. They are having to fight for themselves to be the best and uncover to next big thing. The problem with this is that they are loosing site of an objective to learn about the world. I believe these “issues” are stemming from obstacles comparable to money and poor experimental designs. The lack of emphasis on questions that really matter has taken over this field. Now to be replaced with discovering something significant to the public, which is being manipulated by restrictions of money granted and bad incentives for new studies. The way money is handed out in this world of research depends on the presentation of the scientist’s work. Most have to obtain outside grant money needed for personal salaries, finding
