This terminology is due on the first day of the week assigned. -ectomy – the removal of something that is done surgically. -lysis – the termination of a cell wall or membrane by rupturing, separating, loosening, dissolution. -orrhaphy – to repair or suture. -oscopy – to view with a scope -ostomy – to surgically create an open hole. -otomy – incision or cut -plasty – to surgical repair by grafting, formation or molding of a targeted area on the body. Arthroscopy- to view a joint during surgery by the use of an arthroscope. Adhesion- to adhere and fix a scar tissue around or between organs. Anesthesia- to reduce pain by artificially induce a person’s level of consciousness Analgesia- to artificially reduce pain. Laparotomy- an incision that is made through the abdominal wall
