Travis Packer Year 2 Reflection I think my second year teaching, overall, is going pretty well. It’s a tough calculus, at times, to really assess this. The day-to-day is a rollercoaster. Some days I feel like I teach great lessons, on others I feel like a complete failure. When I look at my big goal, I think I’m getting closer to it. If we’re truly transforming education for these students, we have to get the basics down first. I feel like it has taken me two years to get things like the standards, class management, and parent contact in line. Now that I have those things, I’m able to push further toward transformational change. I have things in my goal about students taking practice AP exams. I want to do that with some of my freshmen, and I will, but I also want all of my students to be strong enough readers and writers to do this at some point. The tough thing is having the mental time and space to get to this on my end. My students are certainly capable, but I have to keep pushing myself so that I’m ready to keep challenging them.

"Before using Course Hero my grade was at 78%. By the end of the semester my grade was at 90%. I could not have done it without all the class material I found."

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
