The United States makes up less than five percent of the world's population, but each year we use more than 25 percent of the planet's oil. It is obvious we are consuming a uneven amount of this limited resource. This dependence is expected to increase drastically within the next few years. Today the U.S. imports 55 percent of all the oil we use. By 2025, we will depend on foreign sources for up to 68 percent of all our oil.
