How did federal legislation support the establishment of unions and union rights? If such legislation had not been passed, do you think that labor organizations would have developed? Would they have succeeded in establishing themselves? The federal legislation supported the establishment of unions by interviening on the strike, after many casualties and spillage into other states, however, "the success of these strikes led to increased membership in the Knights of Labor and confidence in their cause (Ohio History, n.d.)." The Knight's of Labor continued on unionizing and fighting for workers but later started dimenishing. Labor organizations were not establised by the federal legislation, they were already developing rapidly and organized strikes before The Great Southwest Strike. I do however believe that the support from the federal legislation gave unions a boost in confidence as stated. I think that confidence, motivated others
