Introduction In human history, there exist numerous philosophers who are known for their superb ideologies being utilized globally hitherto. Socrates is amongst those prominent individuals and came up with Socratic Method, a method that laid a foundation to the western philosophy as well as logic systems . However, Socrates was born in Athens around 470BC and taught Plato among other famous philosophers such as Xenophon. Nevertheless, due to the political climate in 339BC, the court declared Socrates to have committed an impiety offense punishable by death. Therefore, this essay seeks to unravel if Socrates was guilty of corrupting the youth through his teachings. Argument Analysis During his trial, Socrates began his speech by narrating the basis of the accusations made against him. One of his acquaintances namely Chaerophon approached Oracle to know who the wisest man in the polis as Socrates avers. Consequently, Socrates was acknowledged to be the wisest man among the Athenians. However, Socrates knew that he was not that wise and, thus, the oracle had profoundly failed. As a result, Socrates said to have approached and challenged a politician claimed to be wise. Conversely, he proved beyond doubts that this fellow was not wise as asserted. However, this was the beginning of a conflict between Socrates, the politician as well as his numerous supporters.
