In the current competitive world, it is important to practice effective listening skills and critical thinking which are vital in solving problems. They help in solving any simple or complex problems. Due to the importance of understanding and acquiring the skills, the two areas; effective listening and critical thinking were introduced to teaching as a unit. This aimed at equipping the students with the skills for solving any challenge, therefore, ensuring strong relationships and excellent work performance. One of the case studies that have been taken into consideration is the army where various problems have been experienced due to the poor listening skills and lack of critical thinking for solving problems. As a result, there was the need to introduce the two lesson in schools. This paper will, therefore, major on the techniques for implementing effective listening and critical thinking in the army and the barriers for delivering the units.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
