Defining the Information System Infrastructure Information systems (IS) is the study of complementary networks of hardware and software that people and organizations use to collect, filter, process, create, and distribute data Technical Report on Adventist hospital The purpose of this report is to examine the security of the hospital’s network. Due to the constant evolution of the technological world, threats and exploitations evolve alongside such advancements. This report will review and analyze the necessary structures that are susceptible to these threats. Despite the fallacies that have occurred, it is the responsibility, as professionals, to act accordingly to maintain a secure network and mitigate such inadequacies for the hospital, the respected patient’s records, and ourselves as computer security personnel Information Systems Infrastructure Personnel Structuring Alpha Hospital’s personnel structure is similar to that of a smaller based hospital corporate structure. The first or top tier, the director, is in charge of all planning and coordinationof services involving the hospital’s overall vision and direction. The second tier encases the administration personnel. These individuals are responsible for the overall monitoring of the day-to-day tasks of the hospital. The third tier is compartmentalized to their specialized tasks, each ofwhich are vital to the functionality of the overall operation of the hospital. Informational servicesare tasked with admissions, billing/collection, records, information technology, and human resources. Therapeutic services are responsible for physical therapy, nursing, pharmacy, speech/mental health/respiratory therapy, and other social services. Diagnostic services encompass imaging, laboratory, cardiology, and neurology; while support services are tasked with housekeeping, maintenance, transportation, and supply management. The communication standard between these third-tier organizations should be restricted to utilizing e-mail. This would require e-mails sent and received to be encrypted and decrypted respectively, and if intercepted by malicious individuals, the information would be secured Critical Structures Patient specific information, found within the third-tier systems in records, is one of the most vital aspects to be secure within the hospital’s network. Along with this, having necessary supplies within the hospital is a necessity, as is the maintenance systems including electrical, heating/cooling systems. If these were compromised, the hospital would not be able to function at optimal levels Hardware Specific systems require different necessary physical elements. Our hospital requires networking, servers, workstations, and other security essentials. The area in which the data is all stored, the servers, should be located in a secured access room that is temperature and environmentally controlled. The access will be monitored by closed circuit television recorded to Workflow Bruce Hospital’s network utilizes Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) with tree network topology.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
