Perspectives 2 Etic View of Christianity Christians are monotheistic, believing in one God, the creator of all. Many religions are monotheistic, but Christians specifically believe that God is 3 parts, the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit. [His17] There are several different forms of Christianity, this makes it “the most widely practiced religion in the world with more than 2 billion followers.”[His17] 3 main branches make up Christianity, they are Catholic, Protestant, and Eastern Orthodox. Protestant includes many well-known practices such as Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Evangelist, & Non- Denominational to name a few. [His17] The foundation of Christianity centers around the belief that God sent his only Son, Jesus to earth. They believe Jesus was put to death on the cross (a symbol of Christianity), He resurrected from the dead and returned to heaven. Another belief specific to Christianity is that
