He discusses how this has bled into marketing campaigns with big corporate companies marketing their products as ways to reflect this non-conformity attitude and a embrace the difference in people rather than look down upon somebody for their outlook in life. The Beats were a gigantic inspiration to musicians, writers, and actors to come after them because they made it okay for them to be different and embrace that side of them rather than repress it. Our current Americana landscape still reflects the views of The Beats and it will live on for a long time to come.
