Transtheoretical Model 2.14.2018 o Transtheoretical Model Developed by Prochaska & Velicer Also known as the “Stages of Change Model” Strengths Behavior change takes time Change is incremental Stage-matching of interventions o Basic Assumptions of the TTM No single theory can account for all the complexities of behavior change Behavior change is an ongoing process that unfolds over time and through a sequence of stages Stages of change may be stable or open to change Without planned interventions, populations remain stuck in the early stages Most at risk populations are not prepared for action. They must be prepared by stages (education and income) Intervention programs must be appropriately matched to each person’s stage of change (stage matching) Chronic behavioral patterns are under some combination of biological, social, and self-control. Most stage match programs are designed to enhance self-control

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
