Mark Nichols ENGL 1310.007 Career Goals Throughout the course of my life, I have wanted to be many things. Gutter installation specialist, the obligatory police officer, space man, and the uncommon wish to be a pediatrician. After all of this, I have decided on the profession that I feel I will strive towards throughout these college years. I plan to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in History, get my Masters, and work on a Ph.D. in History in hopes of becoming a college history professor. After so many changes in my career goals, I have decided upon History for quite a few reasons. One is my sophomore history teacher. All my life, through all the boring history classes, I loved learning about my past. It has always amazed me how people lived in the days before I was around. My whole family has always been interested in history. I am the only one to do anything with it. My father is retired and my mother is vice-president of a worker’s compensation insurance company. I want to do something that I love to do. I don’t want to sit at a desk all day long doing something I hate. Throughout everyone’s life, they want to be many different things.
