Ritchie Knox Artist Response Amy Sacksteader Artwork: B.E. The piece is a response to Alan Potter’s Swimmer series. In my opinion I have become too comfortable with figurative art. Right out of the gate the plan is to try something different, maybe even weird things in my art. Alan Potter’s work really struck me as an artwork done by a very secure artist. I admit that I have yet to inhabit that level of maturity in my art. Pablo Picasso is another artist who has a great sense of security in his work, this security allows the artist to try things whether beloved or not. In taking that risk secure artist discover world changing visuals. In my piece I will be barrowing the painting style of Allan Potter; through color scheme and familiarity the topic of my piece will be readily available yet, abstract. The process for my piece will be blending my past and my future together. When I was young I watched Sesame Street; never could I have imagined that I would have a daughter who’d like it too.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
