ETHICS 2 CTAP Help Sheet and Template One of the tricks to being successful in college is knowing what the instructor expects. This handout is designed to help you understand what we are looking for in the critical thinking/application paper, so you have the best chance of success. 1. Turn it in on time. If you fail to turn it in you will fail this course. 2. Realize that 10% of the paper’s grade will be based on writing skills. 3. Do not work on this with other students or share ideas as this is a violation of the academic honesty policy at St. Petersburg College and results in severe consequences. 4. Do not think of this as a long flowing essay. It is divided into sections. Some sections are better suited for lists or charts, while others are better as paragraphs. You want to number each section. Please feel free to take the following and fill the answers in so you do not have to worry about formatting the CTAP correctly. The section below is numbered for you. I. Identification Find at least five ethical issues in the case. Be sure to distinguish the central moral issue from the others and give reasons why you believe that issue is the main problem. 1. Is it right to father a child who will be raised by only one parent? 2. Is it right for the hospital to collect the sperms of Mr. Jamison when it does not have a policy for future fatherhood? 3. Is it right to be an agent of conception without the explicit consent of both parents? 4. Is it right for Mr. Jamison’s wife to claim that they tried to have a child after the death of Mr. Jamison? 5. Is it right for the physician to request that Jameson's effort to conceive a child expressed his wish that his wife has his child when he does not know the couple’s past? Is it right to father a child who will be raised by only one parent? Is the central ethical issue to be resolved because of it the main issue of controversy in this case. II. Research Find at least three appropriate sources and summarize their relevance to the central ethical issue. 1. Schenker, J. G. (Ed.). (2011). Ethical dilemmas in assisted reproductive technologies. Walter de Gruyter. (This article is relevant to the central moral issue in this case because it talks about ethical issues involved in single parenting) 2. Lewis, B. (2016). The Ethical and Legal Consequences of Posthumous Reproduction: Arrogance, Avarice, and Anguish. Routledge. (This article is relevant to this topic because it talks

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
