Yue Liu 02/20/19 MUS 307 Journal 2 The opera we watched this time is Don Giovanni. Don Giovanni, originally named Don  Juan in Spanish. In the opera, he is a serial seducer, he is making attempts on Donna Anna and  Zerlina. He treats his servant badly that he humiliates his servant and put him in danger. He gets  punished in the end, dragged to Hell by the ghost of Donna Anna’s father, whom he killed in the  beginning. The opera opens with Leporello’s solo “Notte e giorno faticar”, which means toiling night  and day, and a chain of movements follows, each movement has its own rhythm, key, texture,  and musical character. The movements follow each other seamlessly, without pause and room  for applause. The trio of singer and the dying officer and Giovanni is also a precious masterpiece in the history of music. In this piece of music, Mozart's genius, femininity, profoundness,
