1 2-2 Short Paper PMBOK Process Groups Anne Murtha Instructor: Theresa Mullin, MBA, PMP QSO-340 Project Management 2-2 Short Paper PMBOK Process Groups Provide a concise overview of each of the five PMBOK® Process Groups. According to the PMBOK Guide there are five process groups that should be performed when executing the project management process. They are Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring, Controlling, and Closing, as per Project Management Institute (2019). Initiating – this process helps to set the vision of what is to be accomplished in the project. It is in this process where the project is formally authorized by the sponsor, and or approved. It is also where the stakeholders are properly identified. Planning – This process establishes the scope of the project. Refines the objectives of the project and defines the course of action that will be taken to complete the project. Executing – This process is to perform and complete the work that was laid out in the Project Management Plan according to the scope of the project.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
