Hi everyone, How does your issue relate to the concept of wellness as defined in this course? For the purpose of this discussion, I have selected Overweight and Obesity. The rates of overweight and obesity have double since 1970. If you google one of the top ten common health issues of today, you would find my topic at the top of the list at number 2. Overweight and Obesity affects our physical wellness. How does it relate to specific challenges or supports for wellness? Being overweight and obese has become a global epidemic here in the United States. Obese and overweight people are more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, Coronary heart disease, stroke, asthma and arthritis. In addition, overweight and obese affects your not only your wellness and health, but also the quality and life expectancy. What is the impact of the issue on society?
