Hebrew 370 Assignment #1 1. How does the Gen 1 narrator define the day? Does he do it the way we would in 21 st century western world? (hint: your answer lies in vs. 13). God called the light “day.” Yes with evening and morning. 2. Write out the order of creation for Gen 2. I.e. earth, man, etc. Do you notice any differences between this and Gen 1? God blessed the seventh day making it holy. LORD God formed the man to work the ground. God planted a garden of trees. Rivers were created to divide the garden. God put man to work in the garden. God created beasts of the field and birds of the air. God created woman. There seems to be similarities to Gen 1 as the surroundings are created for inhabitants. 3. What dietary restriction does the LORD God place upon the man? What is the consequence if he breaks this restriction? You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. You will surely die. 4. How do the man and the woman initially feel about being naked? When and why does this change? The man and woman felt no shame about being naked. When man and woman both ate from the tree in the middle of the garden they realized they were naked. 5.
