Leadership Within Emergency Medicine Nursing is an ever changing and ever evolving beast of a workforce, employing thousands upon thousands of individuals you always hear someone say; oh, my [insert name] is a nurse . Effecting everyone in a different way, we, as a whole community have to step back and really take a look at how our priorities are affected. Dealing with an outstanding patient load on a daily basis, emergency room nurses are faced with a monstrous task, which is leadership within the workplace. “The primary goals of nursing education remain the same: nurses must be prepared to meet diverse patients’ needs; function as leaders; and advance science that benefits patients and the capacity of health professionals to deliver safe, quality patient care” (National Academy of Sciences, 2011). Within the unique setting of an emergency department (ED) you have the instance where the nurses are seeing the patients more than the provider is currently. Along with seeing the patient more the nurse has the chance to not only advocate for the patient more but also to take a leadership stand point and assume care alongside the provider.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
