HUMN 2013-M01 Ten Questions about  Uwem Akpan’s short story, “An Ex-Mas  Feast” . (100 points – 10/question) 1 – Describe the setting—where does the story take place, when  does the story take place, what is the weather like, what is the  neighborhood like, etc.? the story takes place in Nairobi, where the narrator and his family  live in one of the shacks in the neighborhood, and it looks like a  bad environment, the story takes place in december, and the  weather is rainy and stormy.  2 – Describe Uwem’s writing style.  Why call it “Ex-Mas” instead  of “X-Mas”? because of all the negativity that happens to the familes when the  holiday comes up. I think the reason why he wrote Ex mas  instead of X mas to show the negativity that comes with the  holiday  3 – Who is the head of Jigana’s family? Why do you say so?

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
