1C. Out of the four general areas of philosophy the first two are known as metaphysics and epistemology. Metaphysics is a branch in philosophy that questions the fundamental aspects of reality. They examine and question ideas such as, space, time, matter, existence, identity and substance. They ask questions such as, what makes us human? Is what we see, touch and hear even real? Where as epistemology questions how we attain knowledge. Epistemologist studies what justifies knowledge from opinion through separate views known as empiricist and rationalist. Epistemology attempts to prove where knowledge comes from, as metaphysics examines the relationship between mind and matter. 1D. The difference between these two views, is that they are actually the exact opposite of each other. One theroises, we get all our knowledge from experience alone, Empiricist. As the other states that it’s completely realistic that we obtain our knowledge from innate ideas, Rationalist. Therefore, the rationalist doubt our mind is like tabula rasa, believing we have ideas and truths that don't come from sense experience. They believe that our experiences through senses give us
