Kalli Rohlof LSC 347 Termination of Transcription in Prokaryotes Termination is possible in two processes. The first is intrinsic termination. This is dependent on self-complementary inverted repeats that located within the transcript. This forms a stable GG rich hairpin structure which is followed by a string of uracil residues. This causes the RNA polymerase to be interrupted during transcription of the poly U-tract. The U bases and the A bases have weak interaction between them. This causes the dissociation of RNA polymerase and for the transcription to be released. The second half of the process of termination is rho-dependent termination. This is dependent

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
