Lab Report 4
Introduction and Hypothesis:
The purpose of this experiment was to measure heart rate in relation to one’s breathing
pattern.
The purpose of exercise 1 was to measure heart rate in relation to a normal breathing
pattern.
The iWorx system was set up to measure heart rate and RSA as well as the Tidal
volume.
The subject was told to relax prior to breathing into the measurement tool.
The
recording was started and the machine was calibrated.
The subject began breathing into the
device at a normal rate and data was recorded on the subject’s heart rate.
The purpose of
exercise 2 was to record the subject’s heart rate during apnea.
The subject was told to relax prior
to the recording.
The recording was started and the machine was calibrated.
The subject began
to breath normally to regulate the data. Then, the subject took a deep inhalation and held their
breath for as long as they could.
