Business intelligence Business Intelligence refers to the collection, organization, and presentation of data that is collected by a business. The data accumulated can be customer information, product movement, sales data, profitability, statistics, and much more ( Negash, 2004) . The reason for putting all of the data into one place is to organize it in a desired manner in order to indicate the progress and aid in decision making for the future progress of the business. For example, if a company that sells different types of phones checked their BI, they could easily know that their IPhones sales are high in August, and lower in May. The company then can know the correct time put their IPhones on sale by having this information. They can also know the correct time to stock more products. In any business organization various business intelligence tecniques are used. The business intelligence methods include machine learning, use of Artificial Intelligence, and others. Most of the companies in the world today employ the use of these business intelligence techniques to improve their performance. Women’s underwear manufacturer Maidenform, Deloitte, Bravissimo, Plantronics and Connotate, ANZ and other companies are among the companies who have employed the use business intelligence to reap various advantages. The use of artificial intelligence is the most common technique employed in the Business Intelligence. Artificial intelligence systems have intellectual abilities of human beings. Such abilities include the abilities to reason, discover meaning, generalize, or learn from past experience among other abilities. These makes the systems very important in achieving business intelligence. The business intelligence through the use of artificial intelligence is also applied in the telecommunication industry.

Methods of data collection Data collection involves collecting information from all the relevant sources to find answers to the research problem, which in this case application of artificial intelligence for business intelligence. Data collection methods also test the hypothesis and evaluate the outcomes. In our research, we employed both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods which are both primary methods of collecting data.
