INTRODUCTION•Understanding comfort can guide nursing care where interventions are focused on physical, mental, social, and environmental aspects (Drouin, Kolcaba & Tilton, 2006). •I chose to study Katharine Kolcaba’s Theory of Comfort because pediatric oncology patient’s and families can be one of the most difficult populations to achieve relief. •Katharine Kolcaba was born in 1944 and graduated in 1965 with diploma of nursing.
