Students are expected to communicate professionally, using only their DCCCD email
addresses . I cannot (legally) respond to emails from any other email address. You are
also encouraged to communicate using the Blackboard discussion board and
Blackboard IM.

Any option (rent, e-book, buy) that will provide you with the textbook will satisfy the textbook
requirements for Fundamentals of Speech, SPCH 1311.
Special Materials and Requirements:
This is a fully online class. Students must have regular access to a computer with a
stable internet connection. You will need a camera to record your presentation. You
must be willing to share your presentation with classmates assigned to review your
speech. I will have everyone sign a form that they will not allow others to view their
classmates’ speeches or post other student’s presentations on social media. This is
a contract that must be taken seriously. We will be respectful of our classmates and
ensure watching other people’s presentations is done solely for academic purposes
within this course.

Presentation upload requirements.
You will upload your presentation to the
appropriate assignment. You have several options to do so:
1. Upload to Screencast-O-Matic at (best option to
show your visual aid while you are speaking).
2. Upload to YouTube (you can make it to where only people with the link can see it
and it is non-searchable by the public) and send me the link via the assignment.
3. Upload to Vimeo.com (can put a password on it but will need to share the
password with me) and send me the link via the assignment.
Students must also have access to a back-up, in case of technical issues. Students
are permitted to use computers at any DCCCD campus, or at other sites like public
libraries.
Students should create and make use of free Google email accounts , especially to
save and back up major writing assignments.
Students should be familiar with and check their DCCCD email accounts at least
once per day.
Students should log in to Blackboard at least once per day. Work is due according to
the schedule in Blackboard.
Late work cannot be accepted and technology issues will
not justify the late submission of assignments.
