7-2 Final Project Submission: Written Proposal2IntroductionOne of the major forces that impacts the delivery of healthcare entails advancements. It can be pointed out that over the last few decades, there have been major technological advancements that have affected the delivery of services within the different sectors of healthcare. For example, medical technology, diagnostic and treatment approaches have all advancedover the years and that has had an impact on the delivery of healthcare services. Diagnostics and even prescriptions can now be administered over the phone, that might not have been possible in the past.As specified by McCarthy (2012), since distribution of healthcare contains service delivery, there are numerous forces that can affect the delivery of healthcare services. The forces that impact the delivery of healthcare can either be internal or external forces. In the following paragraphs, the different major forces that affect delivery of healthcare will be addressed. On another perspective, it can be explained that patient specialization or focus has been on the rise in the last couple of years. That implies that physicians specialize in certain types of patients and as a result, the physician becomes more specialized in that certain aspect, resulting in the patients receiving quality healthcare services from the specialized physician. On a different note, when the costs of offering and receiving health care are analyzed, it can be explained that the costs have been on the increase over the years. As a result, patients who are not able to afford the increased costs must look for alternative treatment methods.
7-2 Final Project Submission: Written Proposal3The increasing demand for better and wider healthcare services from the aging population that is constantly on the increase also affects the delivery of healthcare services (Healthcare Source 2017). The reason why that is the case is since the increased demand for quality health care services from the elderly implies some aspects of the healthcare service delivery must be overlooked for the necessary resources needed to offer quality healthcare services to the elderly to be made available. Greater emphasis on illness or injury prevention over the last few years has also impacted the delivery of healthcare services. The reason why is since healthcare services are now not only focusing on the existing ailment but taking measures that can be used to ensure that various ailments are avoided. Impact of ForcesOne of the challenges that exists in the healthcare sector due to the forces discussed above entails the lack of sufficient health care professionalsto offer different quality care healthcare services to different patients who need different healthcare services.
