Reuse of wastes in modern times has inexorably become a major part of waste management and devising possible reuses of hair, a potential human waste, has long been a challenging task. Hair, generally, degrades very slowly, sometimes taking years to release its nutrients. Left to accumulate, it clogs drainage systems and waterbodies, posing a menace in urban areas. Hair naturally possesses with an investigation into different ethnicities. Asian hair growth is the fastest, about 15 cm a year, whereas Caucasian hair grows 13cm a year and Afro hair 10cm a year. Focusing on its strength, African hair seems to be the most fragile, breaking under a strain of 60 grams after an elongation of 40%. At the other end of the scale, Asian hair is the strongest, withstanding a weight of 100 grams and an elongation of 55% for a single hair. Interestingly, while the hair is dumped as waste in most places, certain kinds of high quality human hair and its products are also traded internationally at large scales. In 2010, India alone exported around 1 million kg of human hair and its products worth US $238 million, and total global imports were valued at US $1.24 billion. While the UK alone produces at least 6.5kg of human hair waste on an annual basis which decorates our landfills over a long period of time releasing toxic gases and clogging up our drainage system. Having a haircut is not only about looking smart, it could also spell good news for the plants in your garden. Since human hair contains nitrogen up to 16.1% of its own weight., it can be regarded as organic substitute for chemical fertilizers,when converting human hair into liquid fertilizer. Also the liquid fertilizer made from hair offers the plants more vigorous growth and early flowering than normal fertilizer package. With the application of this synthesized fertilizer
