The Structure of the Midterm Examination The midterm exam covers chapters: 1, 2, and 3 and homework assignments 1, 2, and 3. It is closed book exam but you can have one   3 X 5 inch note card and you can use both sides. You should be using the card to hold information, which you cannot memorize such as the physical media and their properties. Each exam problem is worth 5 or 10 points, with the overall exam points 110. Therefore, you must skip one of the 10 point questions OR two of the 5-point questions. The exam structure is given below: 1- Terminology: (about 15 points) Could be T/F, Match, Select, or Fill in the space Type of questions that covers all the material. It is worth l5 points. 2- Computer Networks (Hardware and Software): (about 25 points) A & B- Short answer question (s) about the hardware and the software structure of the network. Short Answer Question (SAQ) could be Define, Compare, List, or explain technique(s) or method(s) that require short answer. C- Numeric problem(s) similar to the ones given in assignment #1.
