Talent Management. 2 Performance management process to measure employee talent. Performance management process helps to establish a shared workforce and brings understanding on the various goals to be established at an individual and organizational level. A performance management process is crucial in developing plans and increasing performance aligning the company’s objectives with employees’ skills, measures, competency and requirements (Cappelli & Keller, 2014). Talent is crucial to the productivity and delivering of products and services. An organization is characterized by excellent talent, moderate, and low talents. The talent management process helps to come up with a measuring technique to identify the different talents in the organization (Cappelli & Keller, 2014). The excellent talents are motivated, the moderate and low performers are trained and empowered to improve their abilities and capabilities. The company uses a process on measuring employee talent that focuses on quality of hire, new employees’ performance rating, employees retention rate, staff performance, and goal alignment (Collings, 2014). Quality of hire is a measuring approach that checks the recruiting efficiency of the organization. The organization analyses the quality of hire to ensure that the right employees are assimilated in the company according to the needed skills and abilities. The quality of hiring is done through a combination of talent metrics such as performance rating and retention rate of the new hires (Collings, 2014). The performance of the new hire helps to determine the recruitment and selection efficiency. This metric is measure at different levels based on time to assess how a new employee is performing. The new hire retention rate is used to measure the efficiency of the hiring process. The retention is assessed after two years to find out how the hiring process influences the retention of the new employees.

Talent Management. 3 Employees’ performance is a measuring technique that helps to distinguish between the performers and non-performers. Employees’ performance helps to establish ways to deal with low performers and motivate the high talented staffs. The company uses this as a metric to assess the talent in the company that different employees possess. The measurement of performance is based on productivity and behavior. The way an employee conduct him or herself in the workplace toward others and compliance with rules and regulation counts in performance measuring. Moreover, the amount of productivity is key to determining one’s performance. Retention rate is a metric that helps the organization to identify the areas that are doing well and those that needs retention. The areas that have high retention rates are likely to perform better in their job and increase work satisfaction. Whereas low retention rate is a sign of lack of
