Name: _Laurel McCandless________ Lesson 5: Defining Cultural Terms (30 pts)In examining various cultures, it is important to understand what terms members of these cultures use to identify themselves. If we do not belong to that culture ourselves, it can be difficult to know how they drawcultural lines. This assignment stems from previous semesters when students showed a lack of understanding about some of the cultural differences among these groups. You are required to search out a variety of resources to understand how these groups are defined and how important the differences can be to members of the groups. You must include both in-text citations anda list of cited references at the end in Part C.Part A:For this assignment, you will need to define and delineate the following cultural terms. Each answer is worth 2 points, 1 point for definition and 1 point for citation.Hispanic: “Refers to people who share the common language that is Spanish” (Garcia-Navarro, 2015). It largely focuses on whether or not you speak the language and not where you are located.Latino/a: “Any person of Latin American descent residing in the United States” (Garcia-Navarro, 2015). This acts as an umbrella world by adding a suffix to the name of Latin America.Mexican: Those who are residents and citizens of Mexico and also refers to the country of Mexico, its people, language, cuisine, and religion (Em, 2018).
