ALLIANCE SUPERMARKET 2 New and Innovative Uses of the Information from the POS System The POS (point-of-sale) is a popular system that organizations use as an effective way of tracking inventory. Since technology is such a huge deal nowadays, this system fits perfectly into the tech-savvy world that we live in now. Point of sale (POS) is the point where the transaction takes place. High end of large inventory companies also use UPC. It is a number which specifically recognizes every product of which it shows up. I would think that all companies use this type of product recognition, but it is not true. Alliance Supermarket is a company that uses both of these methods, the POS and UPC that has extraordinarily enhanced the capacity of organization to recharge inventory instantly, however the organization still has a few issues. I think with a few changes within the company entirely, they can iron out most of the problems they are challenging (Vondermbse, 2013). I think that Alliance Supermarkets should separate each individual store’s inventory, instead of keeping it as a whole. Different areas target different customers and cultural. The company can set up a system of another UPC containing the specific location of that store. Or Alliance Supermarkets can allow each store management team handle their own inventory control system, and submit daily reports on sales and items that are lack. To save money I think that the company should implement this plan. That way extra expense does not have to use on
