Module 3 Discussion Activity Estimates One crucial task that I find is more difficult for project managers to grasp is the idea of estimating the correct amount of time and resources an activity takes. A good project manager will be “meticulously honest in estimating the time required to complete each of the various tasks in the project” (Meredith & Mantel, 2012, p. 345). This honesty is what keeps a project timeline accurate and gives a true expectation of when a project is going to be done. Often I work on project with PMs were the deadline is much to fast to complete the required work. This idea of “false deadlines” is more detrimental to a project than it helps (Meredith & Mantel, 2012). Often times the unreal or false deadline does not spur employees to work harder, but sets them up for failure. The same can be said for resources in a project. Often time, resources (like employee labor) are trimmed to make the project look more desirable. I find that projects
