Cindy ColemanProfessor HowellNSCI 110April 4, 2019Week 3 DiscussionIn an article in The Washington Post written in 2014 Pope Francis stated,” God is not a magician,but the Creator who brought to life and the evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the nationof creation, because evolution requires the creation of being that evolve.” (The Washington Post)I honestly believe he was saying that he believed that God created us he also believes inevolution too. Pope Francis is not the first clergyman to accept science and the concept ofevolution. Pope Benedict XYI and Pope John Paul II also said evolution was “effectively aproven fact.” To me evolution is something you either believe in or you do not just like somebelieve the earth is flat when we very well know it is round everyone has their own beliefs.
