Interview and Reflection AssignmentInterview and Reflection AssignmentInnovation is important for any organization to be successful. “Innovation thrives whenpeople from different disciplines and backgrounds come together to develop new possibilitiesthat none of them could have envisioned alone,” (Edmondson). Throughout this paper I will talkabout effective innovation, challenged associated with suggesting/seeing innovations through inan organization and what learned when I interviewed a member of management from TheCompany about techniques they utilizeto encourage and support the implementation ofinnovation.Effective InnovationFor innovation to be successful and effective it is important for organizations to work as ateam and follow a process. They must be able to establish a team process early, this includesdefining the roles of each team member, setting goals for the group/individuals, creating aleadership structure, and outlining communication and collaboration, (Landry, 2017). Resourcesneed to be allocated properly by the organization, by allotting time and dedicated work/officespace. Environment also plays a role in effective innovation, “if an organization wants big, boldideas, it needs to create a climate of ‘psychological safety’,” (Landry, 2017) by embracingfailure. One key to effective innovation is asking good questions, and welcoming even thecraziest suggestions.It is important for organizations promoting innovation not only have highstandards but also high failure tolerance (Edmondson). Many successfully organizations knowthat teamwork and communication play a large role in effective innovation, which in the endhelps the company grown and be successful. Motivation is important, and successfulorganizations that promote innovation have teams of people that “share a high degree of personalenergy and passion for what they do.
