After the hardware has been installed, the data from the old paper system will need to be converted over to Allscripts Professional EHR. The system will need to be thoroughly tested before its time to go-live, and training will need to be thoroughly conducted in order to prepare the facility and staff for the new system and train them for the system’s functions and features to perform the essential day-to-day tasks. The healthcare organization Alpha currently is using a paper documentation system combined with electronic scheduling system which will need to be taken and converted to the new updated EHR system. The paper documentation will have to be “captured through abstracting, scanning, or other data entry methods” after the conversion planning team has discussed and therefore discussed on how much and what information needs to be captured and converted depending on laws and regulations (Sayles & Trawick, 2014). Without a doubt, scanning would be the most effective way of managing the bulk of documents the hospital, clinics, and axillary services will have to have captured and converted. When it comes to Alpha’s electronic scheduling systems data, it easily can be converted from the old system into the new system by having the program written to convert the data from the old digital system into a format that will transfer the data into the new system which will then take the data and convert it into the correct format to be readable and useable in Allscripts (Sayles & Trawick, 2014). The purpose of testing when implementing a new EHR system confirms that the system is functioning properly also identifies any issues that need to be addressed and fixed. After the initial issues and problems have been identified and corrected, the next step is to have the system tested again. This process is done repeatedly until all of the errors have been resolved and the

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
