Downtown Los Angeles. L.A. Live. Staples Center. Radiant purple and gold lights illuminating the sparkling concrete, appearing to be stars in the foggy sky. Television does not do it justice. Being present amongst familiar landmarks gave me a funny tingle in my upper chest. In spite of this, I was ready to go. My best friend Brandon and I dressed in our Lakers gear collected over the years from head to toe. New Orleans Hornets versus my hometown Lakers. March 27, 2011. 7:30pm on a chilly Sunday night. I was no longer just a fan from afar; I was finally able to see my team on the live stage. My unparalleled passion and emotion behind the Lakers was finally paying off in the form of seeing them live, which was an accomplished dream. My love for the NBA and basketball in general began years prior to the attendance of my first Lakers game. For the majority of elementary school, I was guided to play other sports, mainly tennis.
