ABSTRACT The tourism industry mainly deals with the provision of services to clients. For this reason, this industry requires very high levels of labor. The labor intensity is because human resources are needed to provide services to customers. With this in mind, it is of great importance that any member of this industry tries their best to attract more employees while still maintaining the current ones. This brings job satisfaction into the scope of discussion. Several factors influence an employee's satisfaction at their current position in the workplace. These factors may include but are not limited to: the workmates, career progression, and the wages This paper focuses on the influence of job satisfaction on the turnover rates of employees. The study goes deeper to specialize on the front office employees at the Pavilions, Phuket. This study tried to investigate the main reasons as to why employees quit, creating opportunities for turnovers. The research and analysis led to the discovery that job satisfaction directly impacts on the turnover rates at any institution. 2
