Introduction The issue of divorce and its effects on children is a major issue of concern especially to parents who are always concerned on the effects of their actions and decision to their children. Scholars in sociological studies have had different views on the issue and it becomes difficult for experts to offer parental advice on the matter. This paper will be aimed at discussing different opinions and views from different scholars and coming up with a general conclusion on the topic. More to that, the paper will also study the topic deeply to generate a clear stand and come up with the truth about children and divorce. The theoretical foundation of the paper is based on the Attachment theory by John Bowlby. The theory states that a strong physical and emotional attachment to at least one primary caregiver is critical to personal development in children. Literature review/ Discussion Different research and studies have been conducted on the topic and some of these studies are mentioned and discussed in this section.
