The way he speaks of his love for his “darling” gave me butterflies as if he was speaking to me. In this poem E. E. Cummings used imagery and repetition amongst other things. When he stated, and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart, that was using imagery. Most of E.E. Cummings imagery can be found in his last stanza but overall, I think this poem was magical. If If freckles were lovely, and day was night, And measles were nice and a lie warn’t a lie, Life would be delight,— But things couldn’t go rightFor in such a sad plight
