In the fall of 2006, I selected the College of Engineering on my application for Penn State. But when FTCAP rolled around, I decided that I had changed my mind and switched into the Department of Undergraduate Studies with intention of eventually being enrolled into the Smeal College of Business. I made this decision for a variety of different reasons (mainly due to my hatred for sciences, especially chemistry), but also to keep my options open. By not selecting a major immediately, I felt I would have more freedom than if I restricted myself to a specific area of education. And if I wanted to go back to engineering, I could. I am still uncertain the definite major in Smeal I would wish to study, but I have it narrowed down to several different options. I am currently leaning towards Management or Finance. These two majors appeal to me because of several different things. I am interested in Management because I’ve always been fascinated with running my own business and feel that I would able to use my time management and organization skills in appropriate ways to advance in
