1. To whoever reads this; I just want my story to be known. 2. My path has been colored with a dark undertone. 3. So listen please if you would, 4. For I feel so terribly misunderstood. 5. I don’t want to be the one to brag, 6. But I use to be the kid everyone wished they had. 7. I was humorous and kind. 8. I had a smart, responsible mind. 9. I was awarded “Kindergartener of the Year.” 10. Eventually, that costume of mine disappeared. 11. My mother had passed when I was eight. 12. My father put a lot on my plate. 13. I was never to leave the house. 14. Eventually, I learned to be quiet as a mouse. 15. Seeking the thrill I have yet to experience. 16. My years locked away made me curious. 17. In my bed I’d make a body out of my pillow, 18. Then I would sneak out my bedroom window. 19. I’d go out to do minor activities; 20. Excited with all the possibilities. 21. My new friends gave me hope.
