Gabrielle juniel 2/15/2019 Professor Hemingway Sociology 1306 Media Analysis The first program I watched is The Office. The Office (reality) is a sitcom on the nickelodeon channel. I watched this sitcom from 9:00 to 9:30 on Friday p.m. The period of the show was from 1994 to 2013. The commercials on The Office were mainly movie premieres because the Starz channel does not show real commercials. It is February, so the commercial had movies celebrating black history month, by showing black figures and black films. This targeted African Americans of any age, sex, and class. They also showed kid films, action films and mystery/crime films. They target the kid films for the children, and young teens. The other movie films lean towards a more teen, young adult, and adults, because of language, violence, etc. In The Office I noticed that there was sexual harassment, emotional abuse, and lack of diversity. In the sitcom there were only white males and females who were businessmen and women. The boss (Michael Scott) has fat shamed a female
