Rape shield laws prohibit questioning of a rape victim if the purpose of the questioning is to expose the victim’s previous sexual history. 3. Rape shield laws do not prevent the introduction of evidence of past sexual conduct of the victim if it is offered to prove either consent of the victim, or that another physical evidence used as part of the case against the defendant. 4. Statutory rape requires no specific intent to have sex with a minor. The defendants claims that they reasonably believed the person was not a minor is not a defense.
